Writing Skills Demonstration #1

This assignment is designed as an attempt to get students comfortable reviewing their own writing. Once you have composed the five paragraphs assigned below, go over the word choice and sentence structure carefully. If you are not comfortable with grammar on your own, don’t hesitate to consider the style guide provided in the back of our textbook.

Assignment:
You are to begin with a brief “introduction” to yourself. There should be three paragraphs. Paragraph one should introduce you as a professional. Paragraph two should introduce you as a student. Paragraph three should introduce you as a person. Each paragraph should be 40-60 words in length. All sentences should be between five and ten words long. When structuring your paragraphs, keep in mind that we are working on writing complete sentences. Make sure that each sentence stands on its own. Likewise, make sure that any pronouns (he, she, it, etc.) have clear referents.
