Here’s some guidelines and instructions for reading, writing, and sharing three Current Dance Event Articles.

You are to write three current event dance articles from newspapers, magazines, or the Internet. Examples of newspapers that you may read would be any of your local newspapers, or a large scale paper like the New York Times.

Many popular magazines may contain dance articles or you might want to look at a specific dance magazine such as Dance Teacher Now, Pointe, Dance Spirit, or Dance Magazine. Popular magazines or specific dance magazines may be available at a college or local library, or over the Internet.

You should choose your current dance event articles keeping the following in mind:

1) By the word “current” I am referring to an article that has been written in the last six months to a year.

2) Choose a current event dance article from which we can all benefit and learn something. Examples would be current happenings about a particular dance, dancer, or company.

3) Do Not choose an announcement of a dance event or a performance review because many times these are events that have already happened or events that we may possibly not be able to see or view, and therefore would be meaningless to most of us.

After you have chosen and read three current event dance articles, you are to write a 1/2 page summary of each current dance event article. Within this 1/2 page summary you should include the title and date of the current dance event article, the source in which you found the current dance event article, and most importantly a summary highlighting the main ideas and information you discovered in reading this current dance event article.
