    We have come to understand that part of our legal tradition and its roots have been shaped by the personalities of those in power during the time frames when perceptions of law, legal systems, and the administration of the law were drastically

    changing. We have read about the Code and Laws of King Hammurabi. Please answer the following:

    1) What role do you think that “personality” and “personal power” have historically played and currently play in the shaping of and administration of our legal systems?

    2) What role, if any, do you think this King’s personality played in the acceptance of the codes and laws?
    3 After reading the information about the codes and laws, what other factors do you think go into the acceptability of laws and rules by society? Particularly focus on how important the perception of those who create the laws is regarding whether the laws or “rules” are deemed important or not.
