What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement.
I have been fascinated by the human mind and how it works in the class Health Management and Social Care during junior high school. My interest in understanding human behavior especially to children has been enhanced through an activity in high school.
I was the Secretary of the Students’ Welfare Association during high school. I basically attend meetings outside schools with other schools with my colleauges. I learned a lot during that year, leadership, independence, logical thinking and communication skills. I also attended several leadership camps that made myself braver and more active than i was since i am a shy person. I am also the captain of the swimming team during the last year of high school. I was not interested in any kinds of sports until I particiapte for a friend during swimming competition because she was injured and not able to swim. i started to love swimming and many kinds of outdoor activities. I also joined the rugby team at school that enhace my physical skills. Although this is a tiring and easily injured sport, I did not give up and fully participate in it. Except these activities, I also participate in many volunteer work during high school.

For instance, I volunteered in the annual international judo tournament in Hong Kong as a translator since 2011. I translate mainly in Chinese and English. I also volunteered flag selling on the street for the organization Hong Kong Community Chest every year since 2009.
After i entered to college last year in 2012, my interest in volunteering has not been down. I joined the Rotaract Club and

participated in many different activities such as Rotary First Harvest, I packed food for the people in need. I also baked goods for

the Bake Sale at college. This year I was chosen to be an officer in the club. As the International Chair, I worked along with the

Community Chair to look for volunteer opportunities. I also worked with the Student Government as a communicator. I also volunteered

for the UNICEF for the hopelink foodbank. I cleaned and packed food that were ready for people. Besides this service group, I am also

an officer in the Psychology Club. This is a great opportunity for me to express my interest towards psychology with other people. We

had invited speakers to come over and share their stories during the Mental Illness Awareness week, which was really successful that

many students participated. My passion for sports would not be ended, i joined the badminton club in college. Although we do not have

competitions, we practice with each other every week. That increases my physical skills and I met a lot of new friends.
Involving in these activies from high school to college, i noticed that i had grown a lot, especially my personality. I am the kind of

person who is really shy and not bother to talk to anyone. However, after participating in a lot of leadership camps in high school, i

had changed my personality. I became active and enthusiatic. my problem solving skills and logical thinking had improved, too. This

helped me a lot not only for my future but also for my major, psychology. I need a strong logical thinking and communication skills in

order to sustain all the circumstances and pursuing my dreams.
