Does learning change the structure of the brain?
Is homosexuality biologically based?
Is evolution a good explanation for psychological concepts?
Pick **one** of the topics listed above. Read the relevant material in the ‘Taking Sides’ textbook, then post your answer in response both the broader question and to one of the ‘Challenge Questions’ or ‘Critical Thinking & Reflection’ questions listed in the book for your chosen topic. Please remember to type your specific challenge question at the top of your post so that the other students know exactly which one you are answering.
Demonstrate your mastery of the topic, back up your posts with facts/evidence (not just opinions!), and use proper spelling and grammar. The discussion posts are not merely a forum for your opinions, rather you should think of these as short (4-5 paragraph) evidenced-based essays where you explain the topic and answer the challenge question in great detail. Your essay needs to summarize the issue, take a definitive position, and present an argument for that position based on evidence covered in the textbook. You are required to mention the counter-arguments from the reading, which means that your argument must be balanced in its approach and present/discuss the research that both supports *and argues against* your position. Additionally, you must also pick a specific challenge question that corresponds to your topic, and respond to that question at the end of your essay.
