    Now it’s time for you to put story and scholarship together by writing a paper that analyzes one of the stories, while applying scholarly concepts and definitions to the story. PICK THE TWO STORIES THAT MEAN THE MOST TO YOU. THEN, SELECT ONE ARTICLE AND TWO SCHOLARLY CONCEPTS OR DEFINITIONS AND APPLY THOSE CONCEPTS OR DEFINITIONS TO THE STORIES THAT YOU HAVE CHOSEN. 1.    A title that focuses attention on a main idea= 5 points.
    2.    An introduction that enters an ongoing conversation and that creates a sense of purpose and connection to audience= 25 points.
    3.    An interpretation of the story’s meaning that summarizes at least two scholarly sources and two concepts or definitions to help explain why the story is meaningful= 35 points.
    4.    A supporting argument that explains and gives reasons for why the story is meaningful for the audience= 30 points.
    5.    One additional source that was not assigned as class reading homework= 10 points.
    6.    A conclusion that emphasizes why the story is important and that contributes to the ongoing conversation about literacy= 15 points.
    7.    Proper citation of the source materials in the paper (in text citation) and at the end of the paper (a references page)= 15 points.
    8.    Clear writing that allows the reader to understand—logical organization, sentence clarity, transitions, etc.= 15 points.
