You have read about some of the approaches to addictive disorders, or ways in which we might go about treating and supporting people struggling with addictive disorders via group treatment. As you now know, there is no one way to do this, but many. In this week’s assignment, your job is to provide an overview and comparison of three approaches to group therapy for addictive disorders. In your presentation, you should:

    Provide an introduction and overview of the benefits of group therapy for substance abuse and addictive disorders
    Select and describe three different approaches to group therapy for addictive disorders including the theory and techniques used in each
    Describe the efficacy of each approach and for whom each approach is intended (i.e. a given approach may be found in the research to be useful for one type of group or presenting concern but contraindicated for another)
