I do not expect quotes or references as I would a research paper. Your answers are to be typed, double spaced and no less than two pages for each question. 1. In California, many medical groups and IPAs contract with health maintenance organizations via what is called a “delegated model”. Recently there have been reports of a reduction in HMO contracts using the delegated model. What is the delegated model and how does it work?
2. Since HMOs must compete with other medical insurance companies under the Affordable Care Act, discuss how HMOs market and sell their products under Covered California, our Exchange system.
3. With the implementation of Resource-Based Relative Value Scales (RBRVS) a number of years ago, what significant changes occurred in the way physicians are often compensated for their professional services?
4. Describe and discuss at least five major functions of a Management Service Organization (MSO).
5. Identify and discuss three features of Accountable Care Organizations which you think are commonly found in most health maintenance organizations.
