This writing assignment is intended to give the student the “redo” experience and practice of the basics for succinct and concise writing on complex topics. I want you to write about if TLS/SSL is an encryption method, how are keys exchanged? what are the limitations of TLS/SSL?

This is NOT A REDO OF THE FIRST PAPER!. This assignment should explore the same topic or subject matter but in a different perspective, but all other requirements remain the same. The key areas for assessment:

A clear, concise, and defined thesis statement that occurs at the beginning.
It is essential that this thesis statement be appropriately narrowed to follow the guidelines set forth in the assignment. If the student does not master this portion of the essay, it will be quite difficult to compose an effective or persuasive essay.

SCOPE
Given the length restrictions of the assignment it is acceptable to limit the essay/paper to one general idea. This will allow for clarity and direction. What is more, such conciseness creates an ease of readability for one’s audience.

Evidential support (whether factual, logical, statistical, or anecdotal).
Often times, students, or “future subject matter experts” are required to write Point papers / essays with little or no preparation; therefore, such essays do not typically allow for a great deal of statistical or factual evidence. However, it is always expected that the expert have substantial evidence and proper references for any position they present. Therefore, for the academic purpose of this course, students WILL have a properly formatted Reference page with at least one reference.

A bit of creativity!
Though creativity and artfulness are not always associated with essay writing, it is an art form nonetheless. Do not get carried away. Keep the paper professional and to the point, but there is room to maneuver outside the rigid academic formats. Remember your audience, keep it interesting and memorable and make an impact.

Present a conclusion with conviction.
It is at this point of the essay that students will inevitably begin to struggle. This is the portion of the essay that will leave the most immediate impression on the mind of the reader. Therefore, it must be effective and logical. Do not introduce any new information into the conclusion; rather, synthesize and come to a conclusion concerning the information presented in the body of the essay.

Finally, make a complete argument. Do not introduce items and leave them unaddressed. Have a point, make your point, and make it completely.
