Suppose that a person you know defines the family as "a group of people related to one another through marriage or birth, who reside together, engage in economic cooperation, and have socially approved sexual relations, reproduction, and child rearing." Consider the diversity of American families, and discuss how the above definition may or may not be sufficient to capture this diversity.
