Throughout this course, we have studied the theme of silence and how it has the
ability to be beneficial and/or detrimental. Silence can symbolize respect, fear,
intimidation, ignorance, confusion, and so on. The purpose of this assignment is
to create a visual representation of the course theme and to illustrate how silence
impacts society and individuals. Next you are expected to unpack this issue and
explain how/why silence exists using examples from the course (Obasan, the
short stories, The Help, Machine Gun Preacher, song lyrics, and/or
advertisements). You can choose to create a website, powerpoint, or decorate a
box provided in class.
You are to create a visual piece to illustrate the theme of silence and how silence
impacts individuals/society. If using a box, the exterior should illustrate the impact
of silence whereas the interior will include information that explain why people
are silent and why it is important to have a voice.
If creating a website or powerpoint, you should have a webpage or a few slides
that grab the audience’s attention towards your topic. please create the powerpoint for me please
