The Papers must be between 1,200 and 1,500 words on one of the assigned topics. Papers of less than 1,000 words will be considered non-responsive to the assignment and University requirements and will receive an F. Without acceptable writing assignments you can not pass the class.

Your paper should be derived from either peer-reviewed journals or publications of high journalistic integrity . Papers are not book reports, and not your personal opinion forum.

For these assignment you will be required to write an essay that is no less than 1,200 words in length, but no greater than 1,500 words, double spaced, font 12 Times New Roman and one inch margins.

Your essay should be a critical analysis of the topic. Your paper should be formatted to inlcude: For example: you should have:

one to three paragraphs abstract;
1-2 paragraphs to introduce the issue,
3 or 4 (or more) paragraphs to identify and discuss the environmental and or public health issue [the pros and cons of the topic if appropriate] and
A closing 1-2 paragraphs to provide a brief summary. You may include supported opinion in the summary paragraph only.
Include your references in APA format
There is no specific number of required references. You should use as many as you need to adequately address the tpoic and being sure you provide references for all reference required statements in your paper. Failure to cite maybe considered plagiarism and result in an F.

Remember: These assignments are an analytical or interpretive composition which will require you to interpret or weigh conflicting data: it is NOT a book report.
