Select a company that is publicly traded and has inventory and accounts receivable. You must research and secure the SEC 10-K Annual Report for the most recent year. This is often available at the company web site. Look for “Investor Information” or “Company Information”. Save the file to your computer for access. Do not print as the report is usually 100 pages or more.

4. You will write a 4 – 6 page paper, double spaced, one inch margins, 12 pt font, with double space between paragraphs. Your paper should also comment on the financial statements for your company, including the notes to the financial statements.

Select a public company that has receivables and inventory and perform a financial analysis of the company.  The first part of the paper should include the following items:  a brief history of the company, a brief overview and analysis of its industry, products, services, competitors, current events, etc.   Please use headings in your paper when you discuss each of these topics.

The second part of the paper should include a horizontal, vertical and ratio analysis of the Income Statements and the Balance Sheet Statements on MS excel. This is your write up and analysis of your company.  Comment on ratios that you believe are important as well as other areas of the financial statements that are critical to the analysis of your company.  Also, pay particular attention to the Statement of Cash Flows.

You should complete the paper with a strong conclusion and answer the question, Would you buy this company and why?  The paper should be approximately 4-6 double-spaced, typed pages, not including tables, charts, financial statements, etc.   Do not forget the bibliography, all sources should be cited.  Submit the paper as if the user is a CPA, do not define terms.  You will have the opportunity of sharing your results with the rest of the class in the form of a power point presentation.
