Explain in layman’s terms the potential positive effects of medical practitioners following a mandatory sequence checklist in delivering appropriate medical care.
In laymans terms, the potential positive effects of medical practitioners following a mandatory sequence checklist in delivering appropriate medical care is that it is consistent and reliable. In doing so, a doctor can make sure they are asking all of the minor details in a health assessment to figure out the cause of the patients condition; therefore, prioritizing the interventions needed to care for the patient. In addition, having a mandatory sequence checklist ensures that the patient will not develop an infection or other complications after a procedure. For example, doctors and nurses must follow strict sterile techniques while in the OR to prevent the patient from having an infection, going into septic shock, and dying.
How often do you think that facilities should train their employees regarding checklists and why each detail in the checklist is important? For example, do you think that nursing staff members should have a check list training once a month, each time during morning huddle, etc.? (answer 2-3 sentences)
