“Recommend possible improvements to the organization’s current service quality system”.
In today’s Business there are many changes that organizations have to improve whether they are the quality of the product or the service to their customers.
There had been many complaints about the S4 in terms of the battery life and overheating.  One user took the temperature of the battery and found that the temperature was 50 degrees Celsius which at that temperature makes the phone unsafe for users to hold up the phone at their ears. This happens most times during playing games and browsing the net which are popular features used by customers. Another user tracked the temperature of his phone while checking emails which had a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, to browsing the web at 35 degrees Celsius to playing games at 40 degrees Celsius (Phonearena.com, 2013). There were also suggestions to return the phone and receive a new phone however the results remained the same. There have been problems as well with the battery overheating while charging.

Samsung launched the S5 smartphone and one of the strongest features was the battery life of the phone compared to the S4 which could not last for more than a day with usage of average to heavy use. On the other hand the S5 has a big improvement in the life of the battery which can be used for almost two full days before recharging. The Samsung S5 has included an “ultra-power saving mode what this feature does is cut the colors to black and white, limits background processes,  kills background data and access to most apps are restricted” (Epstein, 2014). Consumers want to ensure that they get the best value for their money. The majority of users have a smartphone and the Samsung brand. Although there have been improvements Samsung can still enhance the quality of the battery life as consumers are constantly on their smartphone and they use these on a daily basis to carry out their daily routine. Everywhere you turn there is someone on their smartphone whether it’s for business or pleasure. Samsung can consider ways to improve the capacity of the battery size so to give customers a longer usage and talk time and the use of other applications on the phone. There is always room for growth and improvements and Samsung can improve on the same ultra-saving technique to improve on the quality of processes which has to be limited as consumers want to ensure that they are getting value for their money and the product they invest in.
Samsung Retina display is another upgrade that has been made to the S5 smartphone which has a display measure of 5.1 inches and has full retina display resolution of 2k, however the phone has   1920 x 1080 capacity which is the same as the S4. As detailed on Fobes.com Samsung display on their screen has improved as compared to the S4. Samsung uses an OLED technology which is leading in the market thus far as compared to the LED screens which uses quantum dot technology. Some argue that the quantum dot technology will give Samsung some pressure however that is not the case as tests conducted by Display mate showed that the OLED technology will be hard to surpass the S5 screen.
In addition to this Display mate technology has carried out extensive lab tests, measurements and analysis and based on these tests they concluded that the S5 has improved in terms of brightness, reflectance, high colour accuracy, infinite contrast ratio, highest rating in ambient light and smallest brightness in viewing angle (Forbes.com, 2014). These tests were conducted however customers are the ones purchasing the smartphone therefore there should be some sort of testing facility by Samsung to ensure that the phones can actually carry out the said features. After all it’s the consumers who have to be satisfied after they purchase the product.
Samsung is not only about manufacturing products with the highest quality and upgrades to their consumers but also what materials they use to make the product.  In 2004 Samsung established and developed an Eco-Design Assessment system. This facility mangers products compliance with environmental criteria developed based on resource efficiency, energy efficiency and eco-friendly materials. This system ensures that products and devices such as LCD and semiconductors comply with the global environmental regulations as well as satisfies consumers demand for eco-friendly products. Samsung is also launching various eco products in the market together with various eco-labels and energy labels. Samsung has also set a goal that 100% of products exceed Good Eco-Products criteria by 2013 (Samsung, 2014).
