**I will not mark all grammatical and mechanical mistakes; I will mark the top three mistakes.

I put this simple updated outline on
the CANVAS assignment in every class, but just in case you missed it, I will give you a printout:

    I. Introduce a CRITICAL biography of your chosen poet (be warned if
you stuff this with useless detail, I will penalize you) and complete
section I (2-3 paragraphs) with the poem(s) you have chosen to analyze
and develop a critical thinking strategy about.

    Things to think about:

What aspects of the poet’s life are reflected in the theme of the poem?

Make sure your sources that analyze the poet are academic, AND FOCUS ON THE INFLUENCES IN THE POET’S LIFE THAT SHAPE THE POEM YOU CHOSE.

II. Imagery analysis of some of the themes in your chosen poem. (SEE SAMPLE ESSAY)

QUOTE FROM THE POEM AND ANALYZE THE THEM OF THE POEM AND THE IMAGERY THE POET USES

III. CRITIC #1’s interpretation of your chosen poem(s) – QUOTE the
critic at least once, agree or agree with the critic basing your own
opinion on research you carried out and careful reading of the poem(s)

III. CRITIC #2’s interpretation of your chosen poem(s) – QUOTE the
critic at least once, agree or agree with the critic basing your own
opinion on research you carried out and careful reading of the poem(s)

IV. Your own reader’s response to the poem with quotes and analysis

THE PAPER SHOULD FLOW SMOOTHLY, GOOD TRANSITIONS, GOOD WRITING, KEEP THE READER (ME) INTERESTED

You should have at least 5 academic sources in your Works Cited

You should also have parenthetical citations in your paper
