Responsible Reasoning and Communication

    ‘Communication is always a good thing in a business organisation.’ Discuss using supportive evidence from communication theories.

    Structure of the essay: Must follow the structure:
    a title page containing an abstract
    introduction (one or two paragraphs)
    a paragraph per argument (You are have a minimum of six arguments, so at least six paragraphs.). These are to be linked using connecting devices.

    Other requirements:
    1. You are to give your essay an appropriate title.
    2. You are to include three relevant and distinct arguments supporting the affirmative position of the topic.
    3. You are to include three relevant and distinct arguments supporting the negative position.
    4. Each argument must have supporting evidence from communication theory.
    5. You are to use at least four academic sources (two for and two against) usually from the library databases or Google Scholar. Make sure that each argument is supported by at least one academic source. An academic source is a published article in a referred journal or conference paper. Textbooks that use citations and have been through a quality process are also appropriate (no selfpublications). Newspaper and magazine articles should be kept to a minimum and will not count as an academic source.
    Any new terminology needs to be defined. All definitions need citations. Use applicable academic literature (not a dictionary or encyclopaedia).You must draw a final conclusion based on your arguments. That is, whether you agree or disagree with the topic statement.
    Use Harvard referencing style throughout the essay, no footnotes, no endnotes, and no lengthy quotations.
