For this assignment students are required to locate and attend a religious service/site (e.g. a local church, mosque, temple, synagogue, etc.) for a religion that is not your own and analyze the experience in the context of one of the topics or theories we are studying in the course. You will need to choose the religious site and submit a proposal to me via Blackboard by midnight, —-Thursday Oct. 9th—–((( FIRST DATE ))). You are welcome to go with another student or as a group, but your paper must be written by you individually. The final paper (approx. 1500 words) is due —–Wed.Nov. 13th—(((SECOND DATE ))) at the beginning of class, and come prepared to share your findings with fellow students in small groups. This is an opportunity to personally experience religion in action and see how it connects with the theoretical understandings we are studying. Further instructions will be posted on Blackboard.
