If appropriate, these interviews may be conducted by phone, or mail in some circumstances. For example, if you are not stateside, consider calling home and interviewing someone in a public aviation office, or write to someone in public aviation related work or office explaining why you want the information and include a questionnaire. If you choose this questionnaire make sure that you start early and plan to send this to several different people and places because some may not respond. Another option would be to interview a foreign public servant in an aviation related office. If none of these works for you, then only with the permission you may have a designated key person do the interview on your behalf as long as you tell the designee what to ask and you are the one who analyzes and word processes your own paper.
Notify your instructor of what you plan to do for the interview process and how you will proceed to gather the needed information.
Select a division or area of local, state, or federal government related to aviation and interview individuals working there.
From the interview process, determine:
the functions carried out by the division/office
the problems typically encountered
the educational and training requirements for the position of the person(s) interviewed
Follow APA style guidelines in the citation and reference sections of your paper. If you are not familiar with APA then plan to become familiar before you begin your writing.
