    Yourtask is to reviewthe earlier project proposal (assignment 1) and develop a refined report

    that concisely addresses the stated problems, develop a project plan and provide some final recommendations. The project plan should show
    all tasks required to be achieved up to and including completion ofthe working project. You should complete the project plan with detailed
    estimates of costs and the duration ofthe tasks and indicate suitable resources required to complete tasks. As part ofthe project plan,
    clarification indicating any assumptions used in the preparation ofthe project plan and proposal should be included.

    Instructions:

    1. Reviewthe earlier project you proposed and refine and adjust as necessary in the light of your subsequent refiections.

    2. Develop a

    more refined Project Proposal and Project Plan document forthis project.

    3. Prepare a Work Breakdown Structure forthe project. You may

    present this in either indented or graphic format. The answer should also include a description of your rationale behind the level of detail
    in the work packages.

    4. Identify the required resources associated with each task identified in the WBS

    5. Produce a project budget

    giving indications of how estimates are prepared.

    5. Produce a Gantt chart that incorporates the activities identified in the WBS. (The

    Gantt chart can be either manually prepared applying basic principles; or alternatively, it can be prepared using MS Excel, MSProject or
    simply, a table drawn in MSWord).

    7. Draft a network diagram forthe project, with the critical path clearly illustrated.

    8. Prepare a

    detailed Risk Analysis.

    Your project report should include referenced discussions organised in the following sections:

    -Project Title

    -Table of contents

    -lntroduction / Project background and context

    -Justification for the project

    -Expected project benefits and

    deliverables

    -Project Scope

    -Body of project plan (e.g. discussion of constraints, life-cycle; planning schedule, resources, budget and

    estimates; WBS, Gantt Chart, etc)

    -Risk Analysis

    -Conclusion and/or Recommendations

    -Reference List

    -Appendices (e.g. tables, charts,

    diagrams, etc)

    Assessment Criteria:

    1. Logical analysis ofthe project environment

    2. Logical distribution and analysis ofthe project

    life cycle

    3. Key objectives related to the project scope

    4. Critical refiection ofthe project boundaries

    5. Key Stakeholders identified

    5. Resources of project logically scheduled

    7. Clear description of project assumptions

    8. Logical schedule (WBS, Gantt chart

    strategically planned)

    9. Critical and factual risk assessment

    10. Critical summary ofwhat needs to be done, an appropriate presentation

    ofthe project management tools and possible recommendations

    11. Presentation ofthe written document: logical structure, clear expression,

    accurate spelling and grammar.

    12. Referencing (Harvard author-date system, thoroughly and correctly used); minimum 10 references from the

    project management literature at least 5 ofwhich should be from the e-readings.
