The following question/issue will form the basis of the optional* assignment for this topic:

According to Maguire (1999), we are presently in the fifth phase of sportization characterised by the increased sporting presence and influence of non-Western nations. Critically examine this assertion with regards to the recent development of both Indian and Chinese sporting cultures.

Structure of Module Essays:

Body of Text: A minimum of a 2,000 word response to the questions posed by the assignment (structured according to the evaluation criteria outlined below)
