original/innovative e- business idea, which you think may have the potential to succeed (i.e. make a profit or if

a “not for profit organisation” cover its costs). As part of your investigation and research you will need to

provide (in report format) containing the following:-
 A description of the main purpose of the e-business including a description of its customer facing interface.
 Justification for your choice (why you think the web based business has potential and why customers would

choose your e-Business over others).
 The market position of the e-business.
 The competition
 The business income model.
 Clear description of a marketing strategy.
 A discussion on how you would manage growth (How would you mange if there was a rapid growth in your business

and the impact on the technology infrastructure?)

Marks will be awarded for:
 Clearly identifying an original /innovative e-business (or a mash up of an existing e-business).
 Clear justification of the business.
 Demonstrate awareness of the position of the business in relation to the market place including the
actual or potential competition.
 Successful application of the key e-business skills developed within the module.
 Where necessary a not technical discussion on the technologies that may be needed to deliver the
business objectives.
 Well researched and properly referenced content.
