Mid-Term
You do not need to type the question before each answer and you do not need to
include this sheet. Please type a bibliography showing any sources. This is due at the
beginning of class. Minimum of 2 pages double- paced. Upload your mimic images to
Flickr.com, naming them Mid-Term #1 and Mid-Term #2, providing direct links to a web
example of the image you mimicked.

1) Research one of professional photographer (list below for ideas). Discuss their unique
photographic qualities that make them stand out. Be specific. Why are they such a prominent
photographer and discuss their personal shooting style that made them succeed. What are they
best known for? How has this photographer influenced your personal style? What about this
person can you take to heart and apply to your photography or elsewhere in your life? In doing
so, what success or challenges were gone through? What did you learn most? What did you face
you didn’t expect to face?

2) Take two photos that mimic a favorite image or two from your chosen photographer. You are
looking to mimic directly or tribute indirectly the details you describe in the paper. This should
help you recognize key aspects of images you admire and learn to capture them yourself. If your
subject matter looks a little different that’s okay, you simply want to mimic the most important
parts of the photos.
