Philosophy

Based on your reading, lectures, and discussions, write a short paper on the topic below. I recommend not focusing on this being something you are writing for a class, but instead, envision yourself writing this as a persuasive article meant to be published in a newspaper or blog. Imagine you are trying to inform someone who does NOT have knowledge on the subject about the complexity of the issue and convince them of your point of view.
    • TOPIC:
o Examine the views of Socrates that can be stated as such: “Evil is ignorance,” “No one willingly does evil,” “To know the good is to do the good,” “Virtue is knowledge,” etc.
o Logically analyze this theory as an explanation (not justification) for why we cause harm to ourselves and others. Explore the complexities involved, cite specific examples, examine counter arguments, and support all claims with evidence and argumentation.
Be certain that your paper is structured in the following way:
    • Introduction, Body, Conclusion (if you do not know what this means please speak with me)
    • Paragraphs divided accordingly
    • 12-point font, Times New Roman, SINGLE-SPACED
