We are using the book “Drugs, Behavior, and Modern Society”, 8th Edition, Charles F. Levinthal
*Chapters 12 and 13
This week, our readings focus on performance-enhancing drugs in sports and depressants and inhalants. After considering these topics, what would be the single most important point about them that you would want to discuss with: a pre-teen, a high school-aged boy, and a college-aged woman? How would you have those conversations? Do you think we, as a society, should do a better job of education on these issues, or is the amount of education we do adequate?
This post must be a minimum of 400 words and must include a “Question to the Class”, clearly articulating a specific aspect or element of the topic that you’d like to discuss further. The class question needs to ask for information not already discussed, should not be in the form of an opinion with a question mark at the end (the “Don’t you think…?” style question) and needs to be “reasonably answerable” by classmates versus something only someone with advanced education and training would know.
