The part we had to watch began at minute 23. The questions we had to discussion were: They are discussing the issues of hyperconnectivity and skills bias polarization and how those issues impact the work place and your futures. They are calling for significant change on the part of American students. Why don’t students change as suggested by these noted authors? Why do students seek out the easy teacher knowing that they will receive less education for doing so? Do students really believe that a degree with no skills to support it will be a good investment over the course their careers? Do students believe that they can overcome the impact of hyperconnectivity? How can we set the stage for each of you to overcome the challenges of having to invent your job? How do we teach students to invent, reinvent, and reengineer their work to help secure their futures? How do I, as an instructor, guide you toward non-routine skills? Or, can you live below average? What skills can I emphasize to help you meet your career goals?
