Comprehend your textbook, lecture notes, tutorial exercises and unit materials before you read further. It is quite normal and expected to read an article at least three times for full comprehension. This takes time and markers can easily see the students who have planned their study time and put in the effort.
Always write at least two drafts. On the second draft you will find yourself developing your ideas and the structure of your points into a coherent whole.
