Project Description and Scoring Guide
Operating Systems Research Paper
The final project for this course is the creation of a research paper. Based on the knowledge obtained in this course and previous coursework, you will examine a topic relevant to operating systems based on theory and practice. You are expected to identify a particular topic relevant to operating systems, investigate the topic through extensive literature search and deep synthesis, and produce a scholarly paper. You should discuss specific research interests with the instructor so there is agreement on the suitability of the project. Make sure to include topics discussed throughout this course. One of the following project types is acceptable for this course:
- Exploratory investigation of a topic: Carry out an extensive examination of an operating system problem through literature review, analysis, and concept synthesis.
- Evaluation: Conduct an evaluation of an operating system technology, design, or tools used in operating system management. Comparative evaluations of two or more similar tools or technologies are acceptable.
Milestone One: Project Proposal
In 3-4 Final Project: Research Project Proposal, you will submit your Project Proposal. Submit a two-page proposal outlining your plan for the final project, including the project type and how you will complete the assignment. This assignment is not graded but will be evaluated as part of the Milestone Submission element when your Final Project is graded.
Milestones Two to Six: Resources
In each of Final Project: Resource Submission 4-4, 5-4, 6-4, and 7-4, you will submit two resources. For each milestone, list the resources and provide a 1- to 2-paragraph description of each. This assignment is not graded but will be evaluated as part of the Milestone Submission element when your Final Project is graded.
Milestone Seven: Rough Draft
In 8-4 Final Project: Rough Draft of Final Project, you will submit a draft of your Final Project. It should be 5-10 pages long and contain details of the work, including a draft of literature integration. This assignment is not graded but will be evaluated as part of the Milestone Submission element when your Final Project is graded.
Milestone Eight: Final Project
In 10-3 Final Project: Submit, you will submit your Final Project. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. This milestone will be graded using the Final Project Rubric.

Right now I am in Module 3 Week, It’s mean the first due date is APRIL 19, 2014 for the proposal. And I need completed writing for well polished paper before MAY 24,2014
