    Analyzing Oracles from the Book of Amos
    Part 1: “Woe (hôy) Oracles: Especially frequent in Isaiah, these oracles are pure judgment addressed to a specific recipient. This Hebrew particle indicating sorrow always introduces them. These are frequent in Isaiah, but are scattered throughout the minor prophets as well. A full Woe Oracle includes an address to the defendant, an indictment/description of charges and a verdict (Amos 6:1–14).”
