The final paper represents an opportunity to engage in original research about new media. It
can focus on historical, theoretical or practical elements, on current or future design or use of
new media, and on the social importance, impact or implications of new media. Ideally, it will
combine several of these. Must reference readings in the attachment and definitions in the notes attached.Detailed and accurate description of the topic. This may include visuals and other
graphic aids.

3. Attention to social and technological contexts that demonstrate that you are able to see
your topic through a wider lens. Remember, this course is about the interrelations of
technology and society, so you should address both.
4. A clear statement of the topic, its relevance and importance; a clear statement of the
paper’s research question and its argument or thesis; a brief description of how it is
organized; a clear conclusion that reiterates the argument and ties all the elements
together.
