Write a 750-1000 word essay breaking down the production elements of a scene from a movie that we HAVE NOT discussed in class (don’t use these movies: Tongues Untied, Meshes of the Afternoon, Little Miss Sunshine, The Conversation, Citizen Kane, The Red Shoes, Do the Right Thing), you can use any movie you like (Don’t choose a movie that is too abstract and released in recent years 90s-2000s). What choices are the filmmakers making in terms of mise-en-scene, cinematography, sound, and editing? How do these choices affect the way the audience feels while watching the film? Use 3-4 quotes from in-class readings to support your observations.
Essay should be written in 12-point double spaced Times New Roman font. Readings should be cited using MLA or Chicago format. Dont forget to include a bibliography!
