    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    (Documentation, Grammar and Mechanics)
It is expected that all papers submitted will adhere strictly to the APA and CSUDH Thesis Guide format requirements and meet the standards of graduate level writing as stipulated in the APA Publications Manual Chapters 3,4,5,and 6. Following are guidelines that will aid in avoiding most common grammar and mechanical errors:
    • Follow all the format requirements of the CSUDH Thesis and Project Manual (author (a), 2009) exactly.
    • Follow the specific designated APA style manual exactly for:
    • citations within the text,
    • endnotes or footnotes, references, and bibliographies,
    • labeling and citing tables and figures,
    • quotations,
    • all other elements not prescribed in the CSUDH Thesis and Project Manual.
    • Put commas and periods inside quotation marks except when a citation immediately follows the quote; put colons and semicolons outside quotation marks.
    • Avoid use of slashes to indicate options, such as and/or and he/she. Choose either “and” or “or”; write out “ he or she.”
    • Avoid sentence fragments.
    • Avoid comma splices and run-on sentences. Two main clauses joined by a conjunctive adverb such as “however”, “thus”, “instead”, “therefore”, etc. must be connected by a semicolon, not a comma.
    • Be sure subjects and verbs agree as to number.
    • Check to see that pronouns have clear antecedents.
    • Do not mix verb tenses in paragraphs; be consistent.
    • Stay in the third person. Thus, do not use “I”, “we”, etc.
    • Spell out a number that consists of one or two words; use figures for larger numbers.
    • Use figures for dates, decimals, fractions, parts of literary works, percentages, prices, scores, statistics and times.
    -Do not use bold lettering.

This paper is for a quality assurance management class.

Here is the introduction I started on it sets the tone for the paper I want, you can change the introduction to fit the paper but please stay with the tone.

    Introduction – INTRODUCTION

Dr. W. Edwards Deming recognized managers were not interested in pleasing customers or workers. Deming crated 14 points to help set managers and companies up for success. The basic reason most company’s go into business is to make a profit. Top executives tend to hire managers who understand how to run lean departments in order to create profits. Managers who consistently turn a profit quarter after quarter are heavily rewarded. When managers are more concerned with profits than quality workers have to step in and try to fill the gap.

Here is my problem statement for the research paper:

Problem statement: According to the status quo Management should provide workers with the supplies needed to perform quality services. Management should have a system in place to ensure supplies are available for workers to perform services. Unfortunately, when management fails to have an ordering system in place for supplies, workers initiate quality. Managers are more concerned with looking good on a balance sheet and cutting cost.
