    Brief description:
    You will write a 3–5 page journal article critique, analyzing a recent, peer-reviewed journal article related to the field of exceptional child psychology. Critique the article on items related to the intended audience, author bias, methodology, strengths and limitations, as well as potential impact and application to the field.
    Purpose: 
    By completing a journal article critique, you will not only increase your ability to become critical consumers of research, but you will also be exposed to current research in an area that specifically interests you within the field of exceptional child psychology.
    Details: 
    Articles must be obtained from professional, peer-reviewed journals that can be found through Liberty University’s Research Portal (http://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=4929). They cannot be “pop” articles. The articles must be recent (within the last 5 years) and must be at least 8 pages long. Articles selected need to be of personal interest to the you for professional development purposes and must relate to course content.  Current APA format MUST be adhered to for this assignment.
    Format: 
    Provide structure and format details as necessary (page format, citation style, template description, etc.).
    The critique will be graded on the following format, and each heading (from 4–9) is to be noted.
    At least 3 full pages, 12 pt. font, no more than 5 pages in length.
    Title page in current APA formatting.
    Opening paragraph gains the attention of the reader.
    Directly indicate intended audience.
    Several paragraphs that summarize the article.
    Indicate the author’s position.
    Describe the strengths of the research, as well as limitations.
    Provide your opinion and/or reaction to the article, including whether you would recommend it to a colleague.
    Describe at least one way in which this study could possibly impact a program, policy, or future research.
    Reference page with article citation.
