Select a company that has published a mission statement on its Web site. 

For the topic, conduct additional outside research (in addition to your reading assignments).  Investopedia, Wikipedia, and other ‘pedias’ are not considered to be rigorous, academic research references.  I’d encourage you to use the NLU library for your research.  Be sure to cite your research references in APA format. 

a. Is the mission statement comprehensive? Is it concise?  Why or why not?  Provide examples to support your analysis.

b. Does the mission statement delineate, in broad terms, what products or services the firm is to offer?  Why or Why not?  Provide examples to support your analysis.

c. Is the mission statement consistent with the company’s actual activities (objectives) and competitive prospects (strategy)? Why or why not?  Provide examples to support your analysis.

After your post, carefully read your classmates postings and comment on your classmate’s postings. Your posts to your classmates might consist of:  Did you find something interesting that your classmate said that you didn’t think about?  Did you have any follow up questions to your classmate’s postings?
