“Ethics Abroad” Please respond to the following:
- Business transactions that are conducted abroad may be different compared to domestic transactions. Identify two (2) issues while conducting business abroad that may contain unethical components. Be sure to discuss what you deem to be unethical about the situation. You may draw from real-life situations.
- The U.S. has a large deficit and international business may or may not be an advantage in lowering this deficit. Consider the arguments about the benefits of international business and their impact on the US deficit. Assess any ethical implications presented by such positions and offer a possible solution(s) that benefits the US.

“International Impact” Please respond to the following:
- From the e-Activity, pick a non-English-speaking country and assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for an organization to do business in this country. Consider the country’s overall economic, social/cultural, technology, and political/legal aspects.
- Recommend a type of organization that may flourish in the country you picked. Support your rationale with evidence or examples.
WEEK 3 DQ 1
“Cultural Diversity” Please respond to the following:
- It is important for management to have a clear understanding of different countries’ cultures prior to expanding globally. Using only two (2) dimensions of culture proposed by Geert Hofstede, evaluate the managerial implications of these dimensions when applied to the decision-making process when expanding globally.
- Corporations have their internal culture but when applying cultural diversity to the paradigm, a major competitive advantage can be achieved. Develop three (3) competitive advantages that multinational corporations (MNC) might gain when cultural diversity becomes part of its corporate culture. Be sure to discuss the benefits to be gained.

“Legal Issues” Please respond to the following:
- Analyze two (2) U.S. laws that govern corporations both internationally and domestically and explain their significance as corporations consider expansion into one country of your choice.
- Determine how these two (2) laws that affect international business operations should or should not be changed in accordance with the host country’s culture and explain you rationale.

- Assess how leadership styles among cultural preferences (e.g., Japanese leadership preference is to save face) lead to miscommunication across cultural communication. Provide at least one example to support your response. Then, suggest how to overcome the miscommunication in the future.

- Determine the most important step in preparing for a major negotiation event with an MNC abroad. Support your selection with evidence or examples.
- Evaluate the challenges associated with negotiating with individuals representing a different culture. Determine how to overcome two of the challenges you identified.
