    Homework #3: Introduction to ANSYS Simulation of the flow around and inside a pipe Assume a pipe of length L and inner diameter D open at both ends being inside a large domain of dimensions LD x HD x WD with an incoming constant velocity U0 (see figure 1). You are asked to determine for which combination of L/D & U0 there is no air flow inside the pipe or the flow separates. You need to run several cases with different dimensions and boundary conditions. Your mesh should be adequate to resolve the boundary layers inside and outside the pipe. Also make sure the incoming flow and exit distances Li and Le respectively are not short to adversely affect the flow entering or exiting the pipe.
