Home Security Vulnerabilities

    Home Security Vulnerabilities: Part 1

For this assignment, we will focus on the various tools and techniques available to the security professional when securing one’s home. Primarily, physical security methods will be used in order to best protect one’s home from burglary and other nefarious activities.

Looking at your residence from the outside, take a notepad and write down every potential security vulnerability that you see. Remember, criminals are not deterred by locks, windows, walls, and gates. Your notes should be very detailed because at a later point in the class, you will be asked to prepare a full security vulnerability assessment of your residence, along with recommendations for improved security enhancements. Think about where criminals would likely focus their attention and why. Also, be sure to observe the soft targets associated with your home.

For this assignment, you are required to prepare a preliminary report of 2-3 pages in proper APA format (excluding the title page), and post it in the respective Dropbox for this week.

Remember to include in-text citations and full source references if outside sources are used. See the APA citation tutorial in the Course Syllabus.

Submit your assignment to the Dropbox located on the silver tab at the top of this page. For instructions on how to use the Dropbox, read these Step-by-Step Instructions or watch this  Dropbox Tutorial.
