Part A: Identification and Analysis of two health issues – short written responses.
Word Limit: 1000 words total (500 words for each health issue)
N.B. The health issues for this assignment have been provided above
Identify two health concerns (SEE ABOVE) for specific population health in Australia. Critique the research literature about each health concern and determine the main health issue (SEE ABOVE) that arises out of each health concern for each population group you selected. Identify the inequities and social justice aspects of each health issue for the population group you have selected. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the difference between a health concern and a health issue in your response.
Part B: Synthesis and Evaluation – Justification of Health Promotion planning – short written responses.
Word Limit: 1000 words total (500 words for each health concern)
Evaluate what could be done to minimise the inequity in health outcomes related to each health concern for the population group you have selected. Use the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion Framework to formulate your strategy and suggestions – consider a minimum of two action areas and explain the symbiotic relationship between the action areas and how action in multiple areas will facilitate changes in health outcomes. Briefly discuss possible enablers and barriers to the suggested action. Justify your strategy and suggestions through the use of substantiating researched evidence. For example, if you select a university as your setting for health promotion, how might you best present the information in a way that will be positive, engaging and effective? (PLEASE USE UNIVERSITY AS THE SETTING FOR HEALTH PROMOTION). Consider the content you would need to include and the approach you would take. You must consider health promotion best practice and the requirements of the curriculum in schools (PLEASE USE THE AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM WEB PAGE).

Investigate a range of health concerns relevant to the interests and needs of your target audience by considering each concern in relation to the following questions:
Based on an evaluation of the answers to these questions, you will select the most appropriate concerns and then refine them as health issues for their context.
Before finalising the health issue, you should be conscious of cultural or religious sensitivities or customs operating within a specific population that need to be observed. You need to be aware that these sensitivities could become a barrier to the development of the issue and formulate a strategy for working with the barriers while including all members of your target audience.
