This is a 10 pages research paper for a third year undergraduate communication course about ‘Communication and
rhetoric’. Basically students could choose any topic that relate to this course. For this particular research
paper, I have already choose a topic: gender and rhetoric. By examining the DNC speech of Mitchell Obama in 2012,
I tend to explore how to use rhetoric to develop credibility in order to achieve political goals. Please briefly
apply historical context of feminism, rhetoric of women and race. Also apply specific rhetoric analysis of the
speech to support gender diversity perspective of rhetoric. The overall argument will be Mitchell Obama’s speech
enables her to rhetorical construct a very different image as first African American First Lady, which
facilitates a succeeded performance of persuasion. I will upload additional files about the course reading that
relate to this topic and please use at least two of those articles as references to show the understand between
the course material and the topic i have choose. At least, 15 references and all that use should be academic
sources, no wiki or online blog etc.
