Chapter 17 consists of a chart for game based learning strategies. In their own environments and ours, students are constantly playing games on mobile devices, laptops, desktops, and gaming systems. Are there possibilities for educational integration? Yes, that’s a given. Are “Oregon Trail” and “Carmen Sandiego” the only options? Absolutely not! Recently, the most beneficial games/apps seem to be freemium games, in the sense that you can test them for free, but must pay to coninue using or moving on to additional levels. The mobile market has caused this type of platform to explode over the past 1-2 years.

Based on the chart’s Types of Learning/Possible Game Styles, choose three categories from the lists on pages 156-157 and dig up educational game titles for each category:
    1) Mobile games
    2) Desktop/Laptop games
    3) System console games- PS3, XBOX, WII
