    Parts A&B are worth 10% each (20% of your final grade together). Taken together they should be approx. 900 words. It is recommended that you do not write on the same text twice. The responses to the topics should be in mini-essay form (ie have a coherent structure and logical argument) and should show evidence of the use of scholarship. There is no requirement regarding the number of sources – it should be appropriate to your topic. Bibliographies should be included.

    Choose one text from the following: Anansi Boys, Girl Genius, "Clockwork Fagin," and “The Mystery Knight: A Tale of the Seven Kingdoms.”
    Since Tolkien, fantasy has largely been associated with the form of long novels, but authors are increasingly exploring the possibilities inherent in other forms, such as short stories, audio books, webcomics and eBooks. Comment on the effect(s) of these alternative forms for fantasy narratives – do they limit the kinds of stories that can be told and/or engender different kinds of fantasy narratives?
