This is a 1000 word report about Exploring Emerging Technologies by Industry. We have been assigned of the topic “NGOs and Not for Profits/Social Justice”. I think mobile banking (p2p banking) is the hot topic among NGOs engaging Microfinance. This is a new technology but it has developed rapidly as a service that allows the “unbanked” – low-income individuals who do not have access to physical bank branches – to access financial services with their mobile devices. At present there are 30 million mobile money users worldwide.

I believe the best theory we can explain for this technology is Christensen’s Disruptive Innovation.
