Leadership Manifesto requires each student to consider a definition of leadership and to produce a written discussion of it. This discussion should be concise – a maximum of 6-8 pages in length, double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font, and adhere to MLA Style. The paper should not attempt to create a new leadership theory; rather, the paper should address and explain the student’s understanding of and beliefs about leadership. It should provide responses to the questions: What is leadership? What are the critical factors of leadership? What are the basic questions that need to be asked about leadership today? In all, insights should be more about people and less about “things” and numbers. This is not to be a restatement of the leadership concepts discussed in class. It should be an analysis and a synthesis of your beliefs about what leadership means – your leadership philosophy.

The conclusion should include how the earlier thoughts relate to a highly-personal question: What is your defining moment – the event that made you the person you are today? How has it made you the leader you are today? What kind of leader are you? What are your leadership abilities and leadership style? How does this style serve you today and in the future?
