    Written report: Entrepreneurial Motivation: 2000 words Critically analyse what drives someone towards entrepreneurship Working individually, you will need to research an entrepreneur of your choice* (with agreement from your tutor) in order to understand what factors have motivated them to become entrepreneurs. Pick an entrepreneur. This may sound easy enough put people have come to me suggesting actors, sports stars, pop stars etc. Some of these may be entrepreneurial but not entrepreneurs. The need to be running/growing their own business. 2. Justify why the person you have chosen is an entrepreneur. Therefore you will have to use some of the definitions of entrepreneurship. 3. Using the persons biographical details, interviews etc. with reference to ACADEMIC theories of entrepreneurial motivation (which are in my lecture notes on Moodle) show what has made them become and continue to be entrepreneurs. Use Academic Journals for current debate and argument of academic theories by searching “entrepreneurial motivation” in the online library and/or using Google scholar. You can be critical of the theories. 4. Read the Global Entrepreneurial Monitor (GEM) report (at least the executive summary) this will give you practical insight into entrepreneurial motivation around the world which is highly relevant to your reports.
