ADDITIONALLY – Attach an extra page with a self-evaluation and brief explanation (a few sentences will be sufficient) of why you believe your self-given grade to be accurate based on the rubric below. Some notes to help you out: ? All past tense; no “I hope..”, “I intend to..”, etc. ? It could be “thank you” style or “journal” style. ? Accomplishments are okay, but we’re particularly interested in the PERSON you have become. ? What did you learn through the course? ? How did you change as a person? ? What choices have you made? ? And because we have to submit a grade for you: 5/5 – Done -with lots of evidence of effort. (100%) 4/5 – Done with questionable effort or perhaps missing the point. (80%) 2/5 – Done, but obviously without effort or obviously missing the point. (40%) 0/5 – Not handed in. (0%) Policy Reminders: Joel’s Excuse Policy: If your assignment is late for any reason (whether it’s 2 minutes late or 2 weeks late, emergency or otherwise), write an explanation of why (including, if applicable, an official Missed Work Form) and submit that with the assignment. Hand it all in as soon as possible by the designated method. The TA will make the judgement of whether your reason is excusable. If it is not, there will be a reasonable penalty applied – generally 20%. Joel’s Re-grading Policy: If you feel your assignment has been graded unfairly or incorrectly, bring a hard copy of your assignment to the TA office hours to discuss it with them. If you’re still unsatisfied, submit a hard copy of your assignment to Joel in person at the conclusion of class along with a short written summary…
