Econ writing assignment

    For the writing assignment, each student is responsible for finding and writing about a recent (year 2015) news article (not one discussed in class) that relates to a topic (or topics) discussed in the course.
    Each student will prepare a brief (maximum 3-page, double-spaced) discussion of the article that explains the issue(s) raised in the article and how the concepts and theories discussed in class bear on the issue(s).
    Any graphs, charts, or figures you use to illustrate your points will not count toward the 3-page limit. The list of references (which should at the very least include the article about which you write) will also not count toward the 3-page limit.
    Good places to find articles include the following news outlets:
    The New York Times (www.nytimes.com) The Wall Street Journal (www.wsj.com) The Economist (www.economist.com) Philadelphia Inquirer (www.philly.com/inquirer/)
    However, you are welcome to use an article from any reputable news source you can find. If you are uncertain about whether an article you find would be appropriate, please ask me about it.
