Note: You may choose to carry 0% in either outerwear category, but must carry at least 3 of the four categories.
Step #2: Decide on the product categories you will carry for the tailored clothing and furnishings department.
- Choose at least two from the following list, based on your target customer (you may want to include them all), and justify your choices:
- Suits
- Blazers
- Dress pants
- Dress shirts
- Ties
- Dress socks
- Belts
- Pocket Squares
- Decide on percentage of designer vs. private label merchandise you want to carry for each item and for each of the two price categories you are offering for your product line (budget and moderate, or moderate and better). Explain your decisions, and include pros and cons for these two types of merchandise.
Part 2: Designer Choices
Recommend at least 2 designers to carry for each of the two price categories you are offering for your line (budget and moderate, or moderate and better), and for two of the product categories you selected for Part 1, Step 2. Designers do not need to be the same for each category, but they can be.
In this section of the report, include:
- At least two images to represent each designer’s items.
- Approximate price of merchandise offered to each menswear category and each target market segment.
- Explanations of the reasons for your chosen recommendations.
Part 3: Outerwear Assortment
Select 4 or more items to represent the types of outerwear that you will carry for the season and target market. Keep in mind the categories you chose to represent in the first step of this assignment. For example, if you chose to carry 50% casual outerwear and 50% tailored, include 2 images of each type. Explain the reasoning behind your choices.
