The Assignment Students are expected to choose some aspect of a current culture/group of people and complete a GROUP RESEARCH PROJECT. This project is designed to research health issues, nutritions issues, exercise habits, cultures effecting health and wellbeing, economic states, etc…of a specific group of people. Groups/Cultures can be as specfice as North Koreans or as general as African Americans. Examples include: Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Latin American, Costa Rican, Southern Americans, Italians, Indians, Native American, Pima Indians. The students are expected to present the project to the class via Powerpoint presentation which will be posted on the discussion board link opened close to the due date by the instructor. Groups will be assigned around the 4th week by the instructor. THIS IS NOT A RESEARCH PAPER!!!! Project means you may incorporate pictures, text, interviews, charts etc… PLEASE BE CREATIVE.
POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS: Your group must have the following information: At least 20 slides, background of the issue; pictures, charts or diagrams; Studies and/or articles related to the topic; 1st slide should be title and the NAME OF EVERY GROUP MEMBER; 2nd slide should present the topic sentence (Example: This presentation is designed to define, discuss and explain the growing problem of obesity in children in America); the last slide should be your reference slide ( I should be able to follow-up with any of your sources to do more research if I want to) Design this presentation as if you were teaching a class on your topic. Slides should have detailed, CREATIVE!!!! , relevant and interesting information. Remember, the powerpoint is the only information I have from you so it must be in detail for me to understand what you are trying to inform me of.
