Continental Europe seeks to combine flexibility with security in its relations with the workforce via a range of measures one of which is flexicurity. What is flexicurity?
    Instructions:

-what is flexicurity?- flexibility and security, whats behind the concept (examples of it)
-globalisation- global pressures (textiles from China- letting cheap into other countries); pressures on Governments, economies
-examples of flexicurity from Denmark and Germany- focus on those two countries; what are they trying to do? how they trying to do it?
    -insider and outsider system
-avoid segmentation of labour market (part time, unpaid, asymmetric work)
-2 pacts: gender pact and youth pact (young people unemployment, waste of talent and work that could benefit economy)
    -poverty rates
-values, solidarity, welfare, equal opportunities (give examples)
    -geographic flexicurity
    -two problems:
1st problem: youth unemployment (18-25 years old), unemployment for younger because the older stay in employment because of life expectancies, where employers prefere older experienced that younger unexperienced
2nd problem: Viking, Laval and Rüffert cases (social protection measures- workers from other countries get all benefits; Art 3 and 49 of the EC Treaty- 2 fundamental rights: rights to establish in any state of single market, rights to provide services- anywhere across EU)
-articules about Germany: lower wages and pay conditions; post-workers directives
