    I think what constitutes excellence in diversity leadership is the ability to empower people by capitalizing on each of their skills. Those in charge of diversity leadership can effectively lead a group of individuals to accomplish team agendas by simply utilizing their experiences, culture and backgrounds instead of trying to conform them to a set way of thinking and doing. Having effective diversity leadership in an organization can mean the difference between having a competitive advantage or not. Now in order to have effective diversity leadership you should have exemplary diversity management.  A good diversity team can bring growth to an organization. Diversity management should include things like employee resource groups, mentoring, sponsorships, diversity metrics etc. A successful diversity management team can bring about happier employees, increased productivity, happier customers and an overall better bottom line. The best way to start is through the hiring process and then taking the unique backgrounds and experiences of these people and incorporating them into their business practices. Ultimately a rich diverse work culture environment is a solid way to reap success for an organization.

    After reading the chapter excellence in diversity leadership is knowing your employees and finding what motivates them. Not all organizations are the same and have the same diversity. Each and every person has their own skills and experience that can help. Knowing your employees and the surroundings around them, and what they can offer will go a long ways.

    What makes an organization exemplary in diversity management?

    The organization is at its best and it wants their employees to succeed and to grow with the organization. It needs effectiveness leaders, that show commitment, engagement, they have principles of the way people need to be treated and how their goal as in the organization needs to be pursued. They will not set the goals so high that they can not be achieved.

    Excellence in diversity leadership is determined by examining several aspects of an organizations leaderships approach to diversity.  These areas include talent pipeline, equitable employee development, level of commitment of upper management and diversity of suppliers.  The talent pipeline helps to ensure an organization maintains a diversified workforce, increased productivity and innovation.  Employee development programs help to ensure all qualified employees have an equal opportunity for promotion.  Without the upper management, it is difficult for any diversity program to be effective.  Working within diverse suppliers helps to reinforce organization diversity.

    Excellence leadership diversity works to provide diversity training, creating polices to enhance diversity in the workplace and maintaining effective communication with their employees.  Several items make an organization in diversity management.  Examples include working with policies established by following the diversity polices of the organization, empowering employees to participate with diversity programs and recognizing diversity is a vision for the organization, not just a governmental obligation.
